This position will serve as a Systems Administrator V - SharePoint Administrator reporting to the Server Operations Manager within the IT Operational Support Division. The SharePoint Online Administrator will maintain related hardware and software, install upgrades, and resolve system errors as they arise. The SharePoint Online Administrator will ensure SharePoint sites are properly integrated with related computer systems, back-end processes, and databases. This role will work with stakeholders within the agency to refine requirements, develop solutions, and document procedures for the resulting SharePoint workflow and approval process for various action item procedures. The work will be performed in a team environment where the individual will create, customize, and support SharePoint sites in support of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). The SharePoint Online Administrator administers and maintains DFPS SharePoint Online sites, related Microsoft SQL / MySQL database installation and performance tuning, as well as SharePoint Online site creations. This SharePoint Online Administrator will monitor the overall SharePoint Online application performance and will recommend changes in the site's technical architecture to ensure that the system remains responsive and stable. This position will serve as Tier III level support for all systems related issues that fall within their scope. This position will require occasional after hours and weekend work. The position works under limited direction with extensive latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgment. This position is 100% telework within the state of Texas and requires that the candidate maintain personal wi-fi and webcam capabilities during work hours to perform their duties. This position often works outside normal business hours, nights, and weekends. This position may, on rare occasions, be required to perform work onsite. - Create SharePoint Online sites and templates
- Perform basic System Administration of MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server systems.
- Monitor support queue for issues
- Provide SharePoint training for Site Owners
- Troubleshoot and research server issues relating to SharePoint performance
- Develops and maintains documentation and ensures that the content of documentation is well organized and complete.
- Develops and communicates technical information to agency management, technical and non-technical staff.
- Oversee and or provide support of new or contracting staff including other agency staff.
- Cross train in other areas to provide backup support in those areas.
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves production problems in a timely manner, based on their priority.
- Coordinates and or plans, develops, implements information technology security measures to safeguard departmental information.
- Provides new project work and cost estimations and participates in project planning.
- Ensures project schedules are met, re-negotiated, and approved by customer and Project Managers.
- Provides on-call support on a rotating schedule.
- Communicates directly with agency staff and outsourced vendors to provide guidance regarding installation, troubleshooting and configuration
- Keeps informed of the latest advancements in IT to ensure the smooth transition of the agency's information technology and business requirements
- Adheres to all Texas Department of Family and Protective Services HR policies and performs related work as assigned to maintain operations., * Texas Administrative Code (TAC 206 and 213) requires state agencies to ensure all Electronic Information Resources (EIR) follow accessibility standards. Staff may be required to create accessible content including but not limited to; Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDFs, webpages, software, training guides, video, and audio files.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows Server administration?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Extensive experience with all facets of SharePoint Online administration
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL and MySQL databases, including installation, performance tuning, users access permissions, and backup / restore
- Ability to develop SharePoint sites and creating workflow solutions is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Windows server administration
- Basic knowledge of Redhat Linux server administration
- Knowledge of Moodle LMS Web application preferred
- Basic knowledge of IIS
- Ability to install and configure Apache (Linux)
- Ability to install and configure PHP (Linux)
- Skill in developing technical documentation
- Skill in providing customer service
- Ability to simultaneously coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate technical information to individuals with various levels of technical knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within groups, and manage multiple activities and/or tasks simultaneously
- Ability to analyze systems and procedures, to write and revise standards and procedures, and to supervise the work of others
- Knowledge of IT operations, responsibilities, workflow processes, and procedures
- Skill in gathering information, resource organization, project/task prioritization and schedule development
- PowerShell knowledge for SharePoint is a plus, * Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field is preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
