Job description

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support applications on mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in legacy systems, batch processing, and transaction-based systems, ensuring high performance and reliability of enterprise applications., * Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Work on batch processing, job scheduling, and production support activities
  • Debug and resolve issues in existing mainframe applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and support teams
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Support system integration and data migration activities
  • Monitor system performance and optimize applications

Requirements

  • Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and CICS
  • Knowledge of DB2 or other mainframe databases
  • Familiarity with TSO/ISPF and mainframe utilities
  • Understanding of batch and online processing systems
  • Experience with debugging and performance tuning
  • Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), * Experience with mainframe modernization tools
  • Knowledge of REST APIs or integration with distributed systems
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with tools like Endevor, Control-M, or Changeman, * 4-8 years of experience in mainframe development (can vary based on role level), * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
