Job description
This role blends field-based technical work with systems and network administration. You will support low-voltage installations, device programming, and troubleshooting across video surveillance, access control, and communication systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, enjoys problem-solving, and is comfortable working with both physical hardware and network logic. Key Responsibilities
- Install and terminate data cabling for video surveillance systems, access control devices, and phone/communication systems.
- Program and configure cameras, door access systems, and VoIP/telephony solutions.
- Troubleshoot both physical cabling issues and network-related problems (switches, VLANs, ports, connectivity).
- Manage projects for national accounts, including coordinating remotely with local field partners.
- Support both project-based installations and ticket-driven service work (e.g., devices offline, credential resets, configuration updates).
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and professionalism in all levels of work.
Requirements

Understanding of basic IP networking (private/public IPs, router/switch functions, VLAN concepts).

Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and working on ladders or in field environments.

Ability to use a laptop for device programming, configuration, and network troubleshooting.

Willingness to learn and pursue vendor-specific certifications.

Experience with VoIP provisioning is a plus.

General familiarity with network and security technologies - examples include Cisco, Fortinet, WatchGuard, RingCentral, Mitel, Zoom, Teams, Polycom, Axis, Avigilon, Milestone, Gallagher, etc. (Experience with specific brands is helpful but not required.) Desired Traits
