Field & Network Technician

This role blends field-based technical work with systems and network administration. You will support low-voltage installations, device programming, and troubleshooting across video surveillance, access control, and communication systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, enjoys problem-solving, and is comfortable working with both physical hardware and network logic. Key Responsibilities

• Install and terminate data cabling for video surveillance systems, access control devices, and phone/communication systems.
• Program and configure cameras, door access systems, and VoIP/telephony solutions.
• Troubleshoot both physical cabling issues and network-related problems (switches, VLANs, ports, connectivity).
• Manage projects for national accounts, including coordinating remotely with local field partners.
• Support both project-based installations and ticket-driven service work (e.g., devices offline, credential resets, configuration updates).
• Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and professionalism in all levels of work.

• Understanding of basic IP networking (private/public IPs, router/switch functions, VLAN concepts).

• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and working on ladders or in field environments.

• Ability to use a laptop for device programming, configuration, and network troubleshooting.

• Willingness to learn and pursue vendor-specific certifications.

• Experience with VoIP provisioning is a plus.

• General familiarity with network and security technologies - examples include Cisco, Fortinet, WatchGuard, RingCentral, Mitel, Zoom, Teams, Polycom, Axis, Avigilon, Milestone, Gallagher, etc. (Experience with specific brands is helpful but not required.) Desired Traits

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
