Job description
Steinman Communications is looking for a Web Developer to join our team! In this role, you will help build, maintain, and improve our websites and web systems. You'll develop solutions using JavaScript and PHP, customize sites on CMS platforms like WPEngine and Blox Digital, and assist with plugin development, troubleshooting, and system updates. This position also supports website-related help desk requests, assists with database management, and collaborates with internal teams and third-party vendors to enhance performance and implement new technologies.

- Create and customize websites based on CMS platforms such as BLOX and WPEngine
- Document according to established procedures
- Work with team members of internal departments to understand the project request objectives and outline the best technical solution approach.
- Perform system testing and coordinate with key stakeholders for user acceptance testing on new solution releases.
- For on-going support of production web solutions, identify root causes of errors, recommend and implement solutions to remediate.
- Work with third-party providers and vendors to enhance and trouble-shoot issues
- Assist with software and website deployment, updates and migrations as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally in both written and verbal methods, while striving for a positive outcome for our organization.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships across internal business units.
- Work proactively to identify problems and craft creative solutions.
- Sustain a desire to learn, understand and apply new and upcoming web technologies.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SOAP?, What are we looking for?
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training.
- Experience with programming languages such as PHP, Python, jQuery, and AJAX.
- Knowledge of responsive design and mobile device/platform compatibility.
- Basic understanding of web servers (Apache, IIS).
- Ability to analyze and modify existing codebases to meet business requirements.
- Experience developing within CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, BLOX).
- Familiarity with MySQL or MSSQL databases.
- Experience with REST and SOAP APIs for remote service integration.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities.

This position is fully remote, however you will be required to come onsite as needed. Must reside in Pennsylvania to be considered for this position.
