We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our team supporting NRC GLINDA Systems Network and Cross Cutting program in Rockville, MD We're looking for a skilled security professional with hands-on experience in the architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of security management tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Palo Alto Networks Firewalls and a working knowledge of managing them with Panorama. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) GLobal Infrastructure and Development Acquisition (GLINDA) provides a wide variety of Information Technology (IT) support services to the NRC Headquarters located in Rockville, MD; with four Regional Offices. TekSynap is currently looking for a resource to join our Security Engineering team support NRC's enterprise network components. "Technology moving at the speed of thought" embodies these principles - the need to nimbly utilize the best that information technology offers to meet the business needs of our Federal Government customers., * Responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, support, maintenance, and expansion of the following security management tools:
- Palo Alto Networks Firewalls: managing firewalls using Panorama
- IPSec: configure and troubleshoot IPSec tunnels is essential
- Managing and maintaining an SD-WAN environment
- Administer and work within Linux and Windows environments
- Hands-on administrative and operational work with the following technologies/skill areas:
- Vulnerability and Configuration Compliance Scanning
- Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Security Log Configuration and Management
- Network Security: firewalls, Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs)
- Data Loss Prevention System Administration
- Endpoint Security and Advanced Threat Protection
- DNS/DNSSEC Administration
- Email Security
- Packet Capture and Protocol Analysis
- Web-filtering and Web Content Security
- Authentication & Encryption
- Review current configuration of security tools and suggest improvements/optimizations
- Interact directly with customers to resolve complex issues
- After hours work to upgrade/update security tools, * Experience with on or more of the following technologies is strongly preferred:

Requirements
Do you have experience in System maintenance?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of experience.

Experience in security solutions, design, implementation, support, and maintenance

Extensive experience managing firewalls using Panorama

A strong understanding of BGP and other routing protocols

Knowledge of network management tools

Experience in leadership roles

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

The range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
