Job description
This position plays a key role in providing IT support for various Windows-based technologies, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems while supporting mission-critical operations. This is part of a dynamic environment that has opportunities for technical growth and innovation., * Provide IT systems support for a wide range of Windows & Linux based technologies, including Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policy Editor
- Manage the installation and integration of hardware, system fixes, updates, and enhancements
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex or non-routine issues
- Write and maintain documentation for supported services, processes, and configurations
- Maintain relationships with customers with diverse needs and offer solutions tailored to their requirements
- Review, plan, test, and implement Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs)
- Support the development and maintenance of Operating Systems by ensuring the system's stability and security
- Provide recommendations for system improvements and troubleshooting
- Work closely with other IT professionals, contractors, and vendors to optimize the operational capabilities of the systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related scientific discipline with 2+ years of IT experience, particularly in IT system administration or related fields. An Associate's degree with 4+ years or a High School Diploma with 6+ years of Systems Support/Administration experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
- Must possess an active IAT II Cybersecurity Workforce IA Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.)
- Must be able to obtain an Operating System Certificate (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate) within 6 months of hire, * Familiarity with the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) and the protection of Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program Information (NNPI)
- Experience installing and configuring Linux/RHEL platforms
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience managing the full hardware lifecycle, including vendor procurement, capacity planning, physical installation, and rack mounting of servers, storage arrays, and networking equipment
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware/software interoperability and interface issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a current and active DOD Secret security clearance and be willing and able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
