Job description
The Applications/Quoting Engineer will play a pivotal role in bringing custom amusement attractions to life. This role serves as the vital link between the customer's vision and the internal team's capability to realize their requests.
This engineer will develop detailed quotes for customers, including buildable, costed-out proposals based on time, materials, and labor. Engaging directly with customers, they will explain, advise, and modify project scopes. This position collaborates closely with sales, engineering, design, and project management teams to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and inquiries for feasibility.
- Collaborate with engineering to define custom modifications.
- Estimate material, labor, subcontract, and overhead costs.
- Deliver polished, margin-protective quotes and contracts.
- Maintain competitive and accurate pricing databases.
- Refine processes by analyzing past job performance, estimating, materials, methods, fabrication, timelines, and bill of materials., On-Site Leadership Microsoft Excel Life Sciences Project Management Cost Control Safety Standards Mechanical Engineering Engineering Drawings Manufacturing Engineering Electrical Engineering Critical Illness Insurance Sales Engineering AutoCAD ASTM International Standards SolidWorks (CAD) Sales Support Visionary Norwegian Languages
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in quoting, estimating, or engineering sales support, preferably in fabrication, custom equipment, or the amusement industry.
- Strong understanding of materials, methods, fabrication drawings, and production timelines.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Excel, estimating software, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP, OSHA, ASTM, safety standards, cost control, and margin analysis.
"Nice to have" Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with ERP/Quoting platforms.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of OSHA, ASTM, or amusement safety standards.
- Background in cost control or margin analysis.
Benefits & conditions
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allegan, MI. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.66 - $40.87/hr.
