Job description

  • The incumbent would be expected to teach MIS courses, including but not limited to Microcomputers for Business, Management Information Systems, Business Programming, Decision Support Systems, Management of Information Technology, Networking, and Advanced Computer Applications, as well as other courses listed under the MIS Major and Minor Programs in the College of Business.

  • Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.

  • Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of the field.

  • Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.

  • Contribute to student growth and development, including student advising.

  • Provide service to the university and community, including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.

  • Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.

Requirements

  • PhD. from an AACSB-accredited Management of Information Systems program in the School of Business, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in MIS courses or similar experience in teaching/training.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualification

  • Industry certification(s)inManagementof Information Systems, or other closely related areas.

  • Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

  • Evidence of existing research and scholarship activity in the form of publications and/or conference presentations at peer-reviewed journals in the field of MIS or very closely related fields, or proven ability to conduct quality research and publish work consistent with AACSB standards in MIS-relevant areas.

  • Skills/ability tointegratetechnologytoenhancelearningandteaching.
