Job description

RedHat/CentOS & Ubuntu system administration
Major and minor OS upgrade
Scripting languages, including bash and Python
Ansible automation
Git repository management
VMware/deployment methods
Physical server maintenance, include iDRAC
Implementing system security best practices
Authentication protocols/methods including KRB, SSSD, A/D, LDAP
Proficient written and verbal communication
On specified RedHat/CentOS and Ubuntu servers and desktops: plan, execute document and share methods
Contractor Tasks

Individual Systems Update (100+ Systems)

Security

Uninstall FireEye HX agent
Install/configure M.S. Defender
Review/implement 3rd party recommendations

Scheduled jobs analysis
Validate/analyze boot files (inittab, systemd, rc.x)
Compare /home to passwd file
Review/convert chronyd configurations

Migrate Ubuntu Desktops to current version (10 Systems)
Upgrade/migrate Linux servers to latest OS (10 Systems)
Ansible bash - to-yaml conversion
Review/Improve logging (syslog-ng)
Review A/D integration (Kerberos with SSSD; LDAPS; OUs)
Replace SSL Certificates (20 Systems)

Requirements

Must have clear and proficient written and verbal communication skills. We have need of senior Linux System Administration support, with skills in the following areas
