Job description
This position works closely with a small, collaborative team on projects that range from:
- Full website builds
- Client website management & updates
- Event promotions
- Graphic design materials
- Article writing
- Social media management
- Community event coverage
You should be comfortable communicating across departments, managing multiple deadlines, and adapting quickly when priorities shift.
You will regularly collaborate with digital marketing, radio, and client teams to ensure messaging is aligned across digital platforms and on-air content.
The ideal candidate will live in or near Marquette, Michigan and is looking for a long-term career path with opportunities to contribute to new builds, processes, and department growth from the ground up., * Complete client website update requests, including writing or posting articles and designing new web pages, integration into popular web applications (Google apps)
- Plan and execute full website builds for clients
- Maintain current websites (theme updates, plugin updates, backend maintenance)
- Design print and digital materials (web banners, proposals, contest graphics, printed signage, etc.)
- Write articles on a variety of topics, adapting tone and voice to match audience needs
- Manage and maintain multiple Facebook and LinkedIn pages
- Perform end-of-month tasks such as database backups and billing reports
- Attend community or client events for photography and post-event article creation
- Assist with additional projects as assigned by management
Requirements
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and creative Web & Multimedia Designer to join our team in Marquette, Michigan. This is a mid-level position offering long-term career growth with an established and expanding company., * Strong eye for design & hierarchical organization
- Experience with WordPress theme builders and editors
- General understanding of SEO and implementation across websites and content
- Basic HTML and CSS knowledge
- Workflow optimization & documentation
Preferred Skills - Graphic Design & Photography
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Understanding of color theory
- Experience designing for both print and digital
- Comfortable accepting and incorporating feedback
Additional Skills (A Plus)
- Event photography experience
- Experience with Google applications like Analytics, Tag Manager and Search Console
- Experience with or willingness to learn software such as Asana and Clockify
- Pride in producing high-quality, detail-oriented work
- Experience with e-commerce
Personal Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to work in-person in Marquette, Michigan
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, * Previous successful web design experience
- proficient CSS experience
- Minimum 1 year of HTML 5 experience, * Website management: 1 year (Preferred)
- Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)
- Adobe Photoshop: 1 year (Preferred)
- Google Analytics: 1 year (Preferred)
- WordPress: 1 year (Required)
- CSS: 1 year (Preferred)
- HTML5: 1 year (Preferred), High School Diploma/Equivalency
