Job description
- Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for manufacturing automation and process control.
- Implement and optimize real-time control algorithms for industrial equipment and robotics.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in deployed embedded systems on the production floor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded solutions into manufacturing workflows.
- Develop robust communication protocols and interfaces for data acquisition and system control.
- Ensure embedded system designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical support and continuous improvement for embedded systems throughout their lifecycle in manufacturing.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development and experience with common microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M).
- Strong understanding and practical experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, PROFINET, EtherCAT) and standard embedded protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).
- Ability to read schematics, debug hardware issues, and use tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
- Experience in designing robust and reliable embedded systems for manufacturing environments, including considerations for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Testability (DFT)., * Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET, CAN).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508) or high-reliability system design.
- Exposure to manufacturing execution systems (MES), SCADA, or PLC integration.
- Knowledge of IoT platforms and cloud connectivity for industrial applications.
