Job description
As a Senior Electronic Security Specialist, your role assists clients of all sizes and industries by providing extensive electronic security services. Services we typically provide include security and safety system design, threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments, security surveys, security master planning, compliance to federal security programs, independent validation and verification of integrated security system operations, management of installation and maintenance, and staff augmentation to develop and implement facility management and protection processes. Burns & McDonnell is looking for specialists that will be responsible for the implementation of programs to provide electronic security design of people, information, facilities, and other critical assets for our clients., * Lead in the execution of services including studies and assessments, security planning, security design, and other design services.
- Lead projects for clients in new or modified security systems and products to determine feasibility, time frames and compatibility with current systems.
- Assess client security programs and strategies to determine overall program effectiveness.
- Lead the design, planning, implementation, assessment, and management of access control systems, digital video surveillance systems, building security, building automation, and physical intrusion detection systems.
- Research and implement complex information and decision-making systems that encompass diverse technologies including unified management software, access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, streaming video, data, voice, wireless, sensors, door hardware, etc.
- Recommend and present technologies into various new and existing sites and facilities, and the implementation of plans for systems growth, operations, and personnel requirements.
- Manage detailed and technical analysis of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and help integrate cyber security solutions.
- Lead operational issues and implement design alterations to address these issues
- Conduct vulnerability assessments of critical infrastructure, for both compliance and security purposes.
- Determine departmental objectives and requirements, organizing projects and developing standards and guidelines.
- Prepare and monitor department budget and expenditure of funds for staff hours, supplies training, and equipment.

Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in security management, electronics, technology or equivalent. and 14 years of physical security consulting experience or relevant equivalent in a corporate environment Required or
- Associate Degree in related field and 15 years of experience Required or
- High School Diploma/GED and 16 years of experience Required
- Preference given to a degree or certification in security management, electronics, technology, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to create technical project deliverables including reports, assessments, and preliminary sketches.
- Knowledge of electronic security policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience with design, installation, and/or commissioning of electronic security systems.
- Expert knowledge of the cyber security capabilities of operating systems, networking devices, control systems, and vendor offerings.
- Expert knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer/network systems technologies, architectures, and products.
- Experience with AutoCAD, and Revit preferred, not required.
- Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
- Ability to travel 25%
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in security, business, engineering or related field from an accredited program.
- Security management experience in critical infrastructure such as utilities.
- Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) via ASIS International or obtained within 12 months of employment.
- ICA CPTED Certification
- Physical office location preferably in Kansas City, Missouri, open to other regional office locations.
