Job description
As the DevOps Platform Engineer, you will own the installation, configuration, administration, patching, upgrading, and optimization of our enterprise CI/CD platform and its core tools (GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins (master/agent architecture), SonarQube, Jira/Confluence, JFrog Artifactory, Xray, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, FlywayDB, ArgoCD, etc.) running on Microsoft Azure. This is a hands-on tool-administration - not a pipeline-development position. You will be responsible to ensure the tools remain secure, highly available, and compliant for federal missions., * Own the full lifecycle of CI/CD tools on Microsoft Azure: design, install, configure, harden, patch, upgrade, monitor, and optimize GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins (master/agent architecture), SonarQube, Jira/Confluence, JFrog Artifactory, Xray, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, FlywayDB, ArgoCD, etc. to ensure enterprise-grade performance and FedRAMP compliance.
- Proactively manage operating-system and application patching/upgrade, vulnerability remediation, high-availability configurations, and tool upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve complex tool-level issues (not just pipeline failures) while meeting SLAs and minimizing platform downtime.
- Collaborate on the design, development, and deployment of cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible, enabling scalable, resilient environments.
- Develop and deploy containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes, fostering agile development in FedRAMP-compliant settings.
- Partner closely with development and operations teams, applying strong scripting or programming skills to automate processes and solve complex challenges.
- Manage projects independently from start to finish, thriving in a self-directed role while contributing to team success.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Unix (Ubuntu) and Windows Servers, ensuring robust infrastructure for federal workloads.
- Deploy and manage resources on Azure (preferred) and GCP, optimizing for cost, security, and efficiency.
- Create diagrams and documentation for environments, CI/CD tools, and configurations, supporting compliance and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on administration and production support of enterprise CI/CD tools, with deep experience installing, configuring, and managing at least four of the following: GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins (master/agent architecture), SonarQube, Jira/Confluence, JFrog Artifactory, Xray, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, FlywayDB, ArgoCD, etc.
- 2+ years of systems administration (Unix/Linux + Windows) with strong troubleshooting of CI/CD platforms.
- Proven experience managing CI/CD tools in Azure (preferred) or other cloud environments, including security hardening, backup/recovery, high availability, and integration with Azure services.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, such as Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, CMMC, and NIST 800-53 Rev 5 to ensure compliant environments, * Azure certification, ideally in DevOps or Solutions Architect.
- Experience as a CI/CD platform owner or internal developer platform (IDP) engineer in a regulated/federal environment
- Securing the CI/CD platform in a FedRAMP authorized environment
