Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tableau Developer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in data visualization, SQL, data modeling, and stakeholder collaboration, with the ability to translate business requirements into intuitive, high-impact dashboards and reports.

The Senior Tableau Developer will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data engineers to deliver scalable, accurate, and user-friendly analytics solutions in a secure client environment., * Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and visual analytics solutions.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Develop and optimize data models to ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to support reporting, dashboarding, and analysis needs.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business performance.
  • Apply data visualization best practices to create dashboards that are intuitive, accessible, and effective for end users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tableau dashboards, data sources, performance, and reporting accuracy.
  • Publish, manage, and support content in Tableau Server and/or Tableau Online environments.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to support data integration, ETL processes, and data availability.
  • Provide user support, documentation, and training to enable effective dashboard adoption and usage.
  • Participate in code reviews, peer reviews, and the development of Tableau and BI best practices.
  • Stay current with Tableau platform capabilities, industry trends, and emerging BI technologies.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $128,000

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports in support of business analytics and decision-making.
  • Proven experience as a Tableau Developer, BI Developer, or similar analytics/reporting role.
  • Strong proficiency with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and/or Tableau Online.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with additional BI/data visualization tools such as Power BI or QlikView.
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python or R.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience supporting federal or government client environments.
  • Tableau certification, such as Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Certified Data Analyst.
