Job description

Field Implementation Engineer We're looking for a sharp, personable mechatronics/automation professional who can own the full customer journey - from pre-sales discovery to on-site software rollout. You will travel directly to customer manufacturing sites across the United States to implement our new product (including Cimco Editor, DNC, PDM, and Monitoring). You'll integrate the software with existing CNC controllers, MES/MDC/SCADA, and ERP systems while also playing a key role in the sales process: asking the right questions, identifying machine options or upgrades the customer may need, and building trust so they move forward with the project. What's in it for you? Elwood Staffing associates are eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package plus an exclusive savings program, including:

  • Medical/Vision/Dental/Rx plans
  • Holiday Pay
  • Teladoc (online care)
  • Referral Bonus Incentive
  • Weekly Pay
  • 401k
  • And More!

Field Implementation Engineer Details:

  • Direct Hire position
  • $95,000.00 to $125,000.00 /annually
  • Salaried

As the Field Implementation & Integration Engineer, you will manage the full customer journey-from pre sales discovery to hands on software rollout on the manufacturing floor. This role blends technical problem solving with strong customer interaction, requiring both engineering fundamentals and a personable approach. You will travel to manufacturing sites across the U.S. to implement the company's new product and integrate the software with CNC controllers, MES/MDC/SCADA systems, and ERP platforms. You'll act as both a technical advisor and trusted partner-asking the right questions, identifying machine options or upgrades, and guiding customers confidently through implementation. This role is approximately 60% technical / 40% customer facing, and is an ideal fit for someone who enjoys working on the shop floor, collaborating with machinists and owners, and solving complex integration challenges. Important notes:

  • CNC programming experience is not required.
  • Internal engineering teams handle all CAM installations and CNC training.
  • Familiarity with CNC controllers (FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mitsubishi) is helpful but not mandatory.

Requirements

  • Basic PLC knowledge (mandatory)
  • Ability to diagnose failures in automated systems
  • Understanding of industrial logic, signals, and I/O
  • Exposure to MES / MDC / SCADA / ERP systems and data flow
  • SQL and/or API experience for data analysis or integrations (highly desirable)
  • Basic Windows server & networking knowledge (Active Directory, Group Policy, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN, OSI model)
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols: EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA
  • Basic understanding of machining environments, including milling, turning, and multi axis machining (preferred)
  • Experience with CNC systems such as FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, or Mitsubishi
