W2 MongoDB DBA

Insight Global is seeking a skilled MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of a MongoDB environment from the ground up. This role will play a critical part in transitioning the organization from a primarily SQL-based database environment to MongoDB, making prior experience with SQL and/or PostgreSQL a strong advantage.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on DBA who enjoys architecting solutions, improving performance, and partnering closely with engineering teams during a critical modernization effort.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy a MongoDB database environment from scratch, including architecture, configuration, and best practices

Lead and support the migration from existing SQL-based databases to MongoDB

Manage database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization

Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies

Ensure database security, availability, scalability, and reliability

Monitor database health and proactively troubleshoot performance or stability issues

Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and infrastructure teams to support application needs

Document database architecture, standards, and operational procedures

Provide ongoing support and recommendations as the MongoDB environment matures

Strong hands-on experience as a MongoDB DBA or Database Engineer

Experience standing up a MongoDB environment from the ground up

Solid understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and performance tuning in MongoDB

Experience administering relational databases such as SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL

Knowledge of data migration strategies between relational and NoSQL databases

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and take ownership of database initiatives, 5+ years' experience with MongoDB administration and set up from scratch -SQL/PostGRE SQL
