Job description

Description: A Tier III Linux Systems Administrator job is currently available at Belcan in Evendale, OH. This is a full time, direct hire position with full benefits. The individual in this role is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software. They will lead and/or participate in technical research and development to enable continual innovation within the operations environment and ensure all high-level escalation items are completed. Tier 3 resources will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational strategies., Subject Matter Expertise in system administration and support for Linux workstations/servers/OS, in classified program areas:

· Basic understanding of Windows Active Directory administration · System audit finding follow-up/remediation escalations · Advanced system troubleshooting and issue remediation · Advanced application troubleshooting and issue remediation · System patching and execution of compliance related tasks · Monitor and complete all escalations from L1 and L2 resources · Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture · Set clear team goals · Delegate tasks and set deadlines · Oversee day-to-day operation · Monitor team performance and report on metrics · Motivate team members · Discover training needs and provide coaching · Listen to team members"" feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts · Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments · Encourage creativity and risk-taking · Suggest and organize team building activities ·

Requirements

Resources must be a US citizen and hold a current CompTIA Security + CE certification or equivalent. Must possess an S/SSBI clearance or be willing to obtain successfully., Providing subject matter expertise in system administration and support for Linux workstations/servers/OS in classified program areas, · Bachelor"s degree and minimum 5 years of prior experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years" experience, or 8 years of relevant professional experience without/in lieu of a degree · Active and transferable Secret U.S. government security clearance · Mastery of Linux systems and administration, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and security across RHEL 7, 8 and 9 distributions. · Experience writing scripts (e.g. Batch, Bash, PowerShell, Python) to automate routing tasks · System audit finding follow-up/remediation escalations · Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or KVM · 5-7 years of advanced system troubleshooting and issue remediation · 5-7 years of advanced application troubleshooting and issue remediation · RHCSA or equivalent certification · Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor · In-depth knowledge of performance metrics · Excellent communication and leadership skills · Organizational and time-management skills Decision-making skills · Degree in Management or in team leading is a plus

Nice-to-Have Skills · Experience with PBS Pro, Slurm, or other HPC batch schedulers · Understanding of Splunk for custom monitoring in disconnected environments · Basic Windows administration knowledge · Experience supporting engineering or simulation workloads (ANSYS Fluent, CFX or in-house CFD tools) · Experience leading a team or mentoring others · Experience with Powershell

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $92,500-$120,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
