Job description

This position provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant looking to further their career by using their experience and technical knowledge to collaborate with our team of scientists, regulatory professionals, and engineers on a range of projects related to the hydroelectric industry. Specific duties for this position may include:

  • Develop highquality cartographic products for presentations, reports, and other communications
  • Implement effective data management strategies to ensure organized retrieval, tracking, and submission of project data
  • Digitize spatial data for analysis, visualization, and mapping
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive metadata to document work products
  • Conduct assigned QA/QC tasks in alignment with our quality management system
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and peers to support successful project execution

Requirements

A GIS professional with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or closely related field and 6 years' relevant experience. FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification desired, but not required.

Knowledgeable: Expertise in GIS methodologies, analytical techniques, principles of data management, and maintaining data accuracy and integrity through quality assurance and quality control processes, with the ability to apply these skills to projects. Proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online required, knowledge of open-source technologies such as, QGIS, R, and Python a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook software. . Knowledge of state and federal regulatory processes and ability to apply to projects is desired.

Experienced: Ability to prioritize and manage several assignments often with tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver high-quality results that exceed expectations. Ability to work independently, manage tasks done by others, and show flexibility on project teams to complete a diverse range of tasks. Highly detailoriented, thorough, and committed to routinely checking work for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project goals.

Customer Service Mindset: Demonstrates a proactive customer service mindset by anticipating client needs, supporting project teams, and ensuring timely communication. Builds strong collaborative relationships with both clients and colleagues. Consistently prioritizes responsiveness and effective problem-solving in a consulting environment.

  • Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license.
