Job description

We are seeking a Network Senior System Engineer to join TekSynap in delivering innovative, mission-focused IT solutions for our DoD customers., * TNCC and ITOC personnel provide Tier II / III customer service support to US ARMY INSCOM customers.

  • Responsible for providing software support to CISCO routers and switches, Dell PCs, Sun Servers, Juniper routers, In-Line Encryption (INE) devices, network security appliances, and other related network hardware.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior Network/System engineers.
  • Responsible for installation/de-installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment and supporting infrastructure for and within the spaces and satellite components supported by the network structure.
  • Support fiber optic data communications transport equipment, fiber optic cable plants supporting the various networks, and all associated hubs, patch panels, and connector types involved in the support of the network structure.
  • Identify and recommend mission hardware and mission support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies.
  • Report to management on progress of installations of hardware upgrades or changes.
  • Recommend improvements to communications infrastructure.
  • Update system hardware to ensure system currency (as defined by OEMs and industry best practices, and Federal/DoD mandates).
  • Support implementation of ASR, ACS, and other CISCO technologies.
  • Apply experience in standards for transport including DWDM and routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF, and LISP.
  • Perform Network Infrastructure Configuration.
  • Maintain strong communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field OR
  • An additional four (4) years of MS Systems Administration experience (in lieu of the degree)

Experience

  • Eight (8) years of experience in Cisco devices, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, routing protocols, UCS, DWDM, and various routing, switching, and data center platforms.
  • Eight (8) years of experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting networks.

Certifications

  • DoD 8570 IAM Level III Baseline Certification:
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)
  • Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Switching (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Clearance
