Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions., This role supports operations within a cloud-based analytics platform built with Java and leveraging open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo. The platform enables the execution of large-scale, data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads.
Requirements
As a member of the Operations Team, the candidate will help ensure day-to-day platform stability, provide responsive customer support, and perform technical troubleshooting and system repair across the environment. The role requires strong operational awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment while proactively addressing system issues.
The candidate will work with a variety of technologies depending on evolving customer requirements and mission needs. This position includes participation in an on-call rotation and requires the ability to provide Tier 1-3 operational support. A strong background in troubleshooting Linux-based systems is essential. Experience with containerization, orchestration, and automation technologies-such as Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting with Python or Bash-is highly beneficial.
Additional experience that would be valuable in this role includes familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, issue tracking with JIRA, distributed storage technologies such as Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), virtualization platforms, configuration management tools such as Salt or Ansible, and cloud platforms including OpenStack and AWS., * Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and leading Systems Engineering efforts across program lifecycles.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. (Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of the required bachelor's degree).
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.
- DoD 8570/8140 certification required, preferably CompTIA Security+
*Possession of a valid 8570 certification is required and will be verified during the interview or offer process.
Benefits & conditions
Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
