Finzly is looking for a highly motivated Senior Java Developer / Java Architect to join the team in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on developing scalable account galaxy products, ledgering, reconciliation, and transaction orchestration systems that meet the highest standards of security, compliance, and reliability. The candidate will lead the development teams and coordinate with the other teams for successful product delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java microservices, Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, and AWS serverless architecture, with a deep understanding of secure, high-throughput, low-latency systems used in modern FinTech platforms., * Architect and develop Java-based microservices for Account Galaxy products, reconciliation, and workflows.
- Responsible for development, testing, and implementation of various banking products.
- Design and implement secure, versioned RESTful APIs for internal and external financial integrations.
- Build and maintain AWS serverless payment components using Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions.
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and idempotency in transaction flows.
- Apply Java design patterns and enterprise architecture principles to handle complex financial logic.
- Implement robust unit and integration testing using JUnit to ensure financial accuracy and system stability.
- Lead technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and code quality initiatives.
- Optimize system performance for low latency and high throughput transaction processing.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, security, and DevOps teams to deliver regulated financial solutions.
- Responsible for reviewing and debugging code
- Address production issues requiring immediate attention and delivery.
- Adapt to change with ease while working with onsite and offshore teams.
- Actively guide and challenge intermediate and junior developers.
- Work independently and be able to meet strict timelines.
- Work in a fast-paced Agile environment delivering great quality product.
- Should be uncompromising about quality and excellence.
Requirements

The candidate should be excited about new technologies, innovation, and working in a startup environment., * 10+ years of application development and implementation experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience in Java development within Payments or FinTech environments.
- Extensive experience working with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Framework.
- Experience with Messaging Middleware like Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ.
- Solid experience with REST API design, including authentication, authorization, and versioning.
- Hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture
- Strong knowledge of Java design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean architecture
- Strong RDBMS skills (MySQL preferred), JPA, and Hibernate.
- Experience with CI/CD build pipelines (Maven, Jenkins, GitHub).
- Cloud experience preferably AWS.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to caching solutions such as Hazelcast, Redis or Oracle Coherence.
- Background in Scrum Agile development is a plus.
- Job scheduling experience using Azkaban, Spring Quartz, or Autosys.
- Financial domain knowledge preferably Deposit Products, Cards, Escrow and other account types.
- Business Process Modeling experience such as Flowable.
- Familiarity with distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk).
- Experience with idempotency, exactly once processing, and reconciliation workflows., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
