Job description

MURR Active Directory Administration - including related integrated aspects (DNS, DFS, GPO)

Network Infrastructure - maintain and administer switches and hardware related to Internal and AirGap Networks. Coordinate with DoIT Networking on administration of commodity network switches and hardware.

Security - coordinate with DoIT Networking on administration of MURR Firewalls. Administer system level firewalls. Monitor network and systems for malware and unusual activity. Administer Video Monitoring and Access Control Systems.

Disaster Recovery - design/implement/monitor disaster recovery and mitigation solutions related to the network infrastructure and systems.

Maintain and administer multiple Windows Servers supporting infrastructure and applications - DC, DNS, File, Print, Web, Application, HyperV, SQL, License, Backup, MECM

Maintain and administer multiple Linux Servers supporting - Splunk, File, MCNP (modeling), Application, License, OME

Application Administration of several solutions used to support infrastructure, operations, and research. Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Evening, weekend and call-in work may be required to meet deadlines and correct system failures.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

  • Working knowledge of or proven capability to quickly learn programming language(s), operating systems, direct access techniques, remote processing and virtual systems to be utilized/supported within the hiring operating unit.

-Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of Operating systems, networking and applications and their interoperability and the supporting infrastructure.

-Knowledge of computer security procedures.

-Demonstrated ability to research, quickly identify and correct problems (debug) using system utilities / diagnostics.

-Familiarity with systems analysis procedures and techniques.

-Evening, weekend and call-in work may be required to meet deadlines and correct system failures.

-Certification of skills required for all System Administrator titles.

-Ability to work under pressure; meet inflexible deadlines; deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure. Preferred Qualifications

6+ years of work experience in Tier 3 support, diagnosing and resolving complex network, server and client issues. Anticipated Hiring Range, Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas.

Benefits & conditions

Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $100,027 Commensurate with experience
