IT Specialist position(s) are being filled through the Office of Personnel Management's delegated Direct Hire Authority, open to all U.S. citizens. Duties of Position
- Directs the development and implementation of agency-wide policies, procedures and standards related to the specialties.
- Serves as project manager on division-related initiatives. Directs development of overall plans, criteria, and programming specifications; coordinates efforts in accomplishing the work, provides guidance and integrates with other projects underway. Utilizes project management standards to document and provide status to various levels of management.
- Provides technical direction to the installation of proprietary software and vendor supplied maintenance software, and generation of associated software system components for existing and new management products in one or more of the specialties.
- As the Agency's technical expert, provides technical guidance and direction to the SSA executive staff, management and subordinates on the specialties. Employee provides the technical capabilities, limitations, problem investigation and new developments regarding the specialties
Requirements

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
