We have partnered with a globally-renowned defense company, specializing in the supply of small/medium calibre gun systems. This esteemed organization, boasting over a century at the helm of naval gunfire control technology, is currently expanding its operations in Rock Hill, South Carolina. As such, we're on the hunt for a dynamic and competent Technical Services Engineer.
About the Role: Join an expanding US defense business where you will champion installation, repair, service, and training on advanced Naval Weapons Systems. After a comprehensive product training overseas, you'll employ your electromechanical prowess to navigate various challenges, engaging with stakeholders ranging from end users and ship builders to contractors and project teams. Additionally, you'll extend your expertise to support supply chain developments in the US.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Installation, survey, repair, service, and training of naval gunnery systems.
- Testing for precise fault diagnosis and creating thorough reports.
- Elevating relationships with clients while upholding top-tier work and customer service standards.
- Customer witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT's) execution.
- Compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Supporting customer assistance platforms.
- Potential for security clearance through the Department of Defense.
Expectations and Travel:
- Collaborate with departments such as manufacturing and supply chain.
- Travel to both national and international client sites, possibly during non-standard working hours.
- Adherence to time, budget, and quality guidelines.
- Potential for UK-based training and support visits to US suppliers.
Requirements
- An associate's degree in electronics or electro-mechanical disciplines.
- Minimum of 5 years in a comparable role.
- Independent work ethic combined with team collaboration skills.
- Acumen to discuss complex technical issues.
- Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Proven lifecycle support experience and technical knowledge for diagnosing various equipment.
Desirable Attributes:
- Background in naval gun systems and electro-mechanical devices.
- Knowledge of software coding and management.
- Insight into project management.
- Proactiveness in making recommendations for product improvements.
