Job description

  • Provide daily communication with Manufacturing Leadership and Build Management to ensure the successful completion of projects regarding quality, cost and schedule
  • Oversee and track efforts between all manufacturing and engineering functions to properly support the build schedule by means of identifying tooling, materials, resources, planning, and product definition to ensure a seamless transition from paper to reality
  • Deliver daily metrics to the Manufacturing Leadership and Build Management teams
  • Communicate material, tool, and equipment shortages to Build Management and support scheduling recovery plans with engineering/manufacturing to provide conflict resolutions
  • Assist Manufacturing Leadership with tracking and updating the Build Plan to account for missed milestones or re-sequenced work
  • Work with production planning to ensure assembly flow is properly supported by all functions to deliver material and hardware on schedule
  • Communicate and coordinate completion of tasks through manufacturing and Build Management
  • Drive safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention; ensure adherence to regulatory protocols and rules

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field such as: Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, or science discipline and/or combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 3+ years' experience in aircraft fabrication and assembly, or similarly complex aerospace/defense products
  • Demonstrated computer and analytical skills including proficiency in MS Suite, particularly Excel, MS Project manufacturing software or related programs, dashboards, and scheduling software
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing functions

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Technical knowledge of component assembly, both subassembly and final top-level assembly
  • Understanding of schedule, quality, and budget relationship
  • Working knowledge of configuration management practices and quality management processes
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams through influential leadership
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, combined with a strong commercial acumen to measure the potential impact of each decision
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing (Kaizen/Six Sigma) philosophies and tools
