- Directs and controls activities of the systems engineering discipline at a functional level involved in strategic growth of a business
- Influencing strategy with product and program management teams.
- Develops and establishes operational policies and practices in systems engineering.
- Accountable for and contributes significantly to profitability and/or cost containment through direct P&L responsibility
- Regularly interfaces with senior leadership, key internal/external organizations.
- Negotiates with global suppliers, strategic partners and/or internal customers
- Responsible for areas with complex or conflicting legal requirements or cultures.
- Balances Business/Function success in support of total company strategy.
Requirements
We are seeking a visionary leader to direct our systems engineering function and influence the strategic growth of our business. In this role, you will hold P&L responsibility, establish operational policies, and negotiate with global partners to drive profitability. Additionally, you will interface directly with senior leadership, balancing your function's success to support our total company strategy.
This role requires a minimum of 3-days per week in our Holtsville, NY (Long Island) office, 2 days remote (US)., * Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline preferred
- Minimum 10+ years' engineering experience Required
- Extensive expertise in product, technology, service, strategy, and business complexities required.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and supplier relationship management required, * Requires collaboration and operational execution with other businesses or external entities
- Proven track record of soft skills to lead by influence and drive decision-making with sound reasoning undergirded by quantifiable data highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success developing programs from concept to production and deployment.
- Knowledge of camera technologies: optics, sensors, ISPs, & image-processing chains AND/OR experience with radio frequency based sensing and detection systems, such as RFID and radar.

Salary: USD 177900.00 - USD 266900.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
