Job description
As an embedded IT group, the Center for the Advancement of Data and Research in Economics (CADRE) supports data or computationally intensive research and analytics. The successful candidate will be a team-oriented Data/Software Engineer with a strong understanding of delivering software using Agile/DevOps methodologies. This role will implement data products with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, and analyzing large sets of data to turn information into insights using multiple platforms., * Collect, cleanse, analyze, and validate data prior to it being stored in application databases
- Construct and apply standard statistical analysis and/or models to verify data acceptability/accuracy
- Configure, operate, and develop manual and/or automated methods, processes, and procedures to test output or input
- Ensure data integrity by implementing quality assurance practices
- Perform regular and ad hoc reviews, audits, and investigations of data activity and integrity; prepare reports and summaries of findings
- Produce, update, and implement guidelines and documentation of policies, processes, procedures, and standards
- Identify areas of improvement in data collection processes or systems and make recommendations
- Work on Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) processes/projects
- Partner with customers in the development of innovative solutions that achieve business goals
- Review and analyze business and technical requirements and implement technical solutions to meet them
Requirements
- United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident alien status with at least three (3) or more years of United States residency from the date of legal entry to the United States is required for this position.
- Typically requires at least 4-10+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree specializing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Recent accomplishments in developing and analyzing complex SQL on a variety of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Advanced data analytics experience for designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports
- Experience using core AWS services to build and support data warehouse solutions leveraging AWS architecture best practices
- Proven ability to use GitLab for creating a project, cloning a repository, creating a branch, staging, committing, and pushing changes
- Knowledge of AWS Cloud deployments and processes
- United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident alien status with at least three (3) or more years of United States residency is required
