Job description
Successful applicant must be an experienced IT professional with good experience maintaining Microsoft networks in a secure environment. This role involves managing and improving our network of windows client systems and managing our MS 365 tenant. This individual will help build, test, and secure OS images and will roll out new equipment to onboarding employees. Must be able to manage Intune and 365 administrative applications and manage onboarding procedures for our users and equipment. Must be able to manage infrastructure expansion as we grow fast, including network and cable installs, access control systems, camera systems, and alarm system hardware. This is a high energy position and will remain extremely busy. Must be flexible, willing to work hard and to learn., * Security & Compliance: Work within our NIST/CMMC framework and help maintain secure networks, servers, and client systems in a Microsoft environment. Must be good with documentation and have initiative.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve user and network issues as needed, conduct root cause analysis, lessons learned, and improvements. Build, streamline and improve secure onboarding systems for users, equipment, and anything needed to make sure our people have the tools to do the jobs they are here to do. This position will work in every facet of the IT department at the direction and with training from our team of Sr Engineers.
- Network and cabling infrastructure: Will be required to handle the physical tasksinvolved to install network cable, Access Control, and Security Systems including alarm systems and cameras.
- End User Support: May be asked to handle anything that is needed for our end users. Hardware, software, systems integration, specialized equipment install and configuration. Candidate must learn our production systems and procedures and be an asset to every manager and every department when they need help. Everyone on our IT team must be friendly, helpful, and good with our people.
- Project Management: Lead other projects as directed by the IT Director and Sr Engineers. There will be special projects of varying scope that you will be expected to master. We will provide the leadership, training, and direction, and you will be expected to manage these projects with professionalism and energy.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: 3 - 5 years of experience as a lead network/desktop engineer. Requires a good knowledge of general IT and network management tasks, operating systems, network systems, and security practices. MS Windows specialist conversant with the newest MS 365 cloud tools, Azure, risk, vulnerability management, compliance policies, 365 Defender, SharePoint and Teams in a high security environment.
- Certifications: Highly valued credentials include all relevant Microsoft credentials, especially those migrated from the original MCSE certification. Plus CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, A+, or equivalent.
- Tools & Platforms: Proficiency with Microsoft GCC High, network monitoring tools, configuration management tools, MS security and management tools.
- Soft Skills should include: Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical. Problem-solving skills, and project management abilities. Good initiative and energy, and a willingness to take on new challenges and succeed.
