Job description
Position Description: This is a senior role responsible for Workday architecture, governance, integration, and optimization. The individual acts as a senior liaison between stakeholders, IT, and Enterprise Leadership to ensure solutions align with evolving business needs, regulatory requirements and long-term technology strategy., * Designs and configures Workday modules across assigned functional areas.
- Oversees complex Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, and middleware platforms.
- Leads performance tuning, system audits, data quality governance, and compliance activities.
- Develops advanced security frameworks, role-based access models, and audit controls.
- Defines enterprise reporting standards leveraging Workday Reporting and Prism Analytics.
- Manages technical aspects of Workday system upgrades, including configuration updates, regression testing, and validation of new features.
- Ensures technical readiness for Workday release cycles and coordinates upgrade-related tasks across teams.
- Develops and manages detailed work plans and timelines for Workday projects.
- Identifies resources needed to complete assigned tasks and provides timely status reports.
- Drives consensus among functional stakeholders and IT on system solutions.
- Facilitates leadership briefings to present technical strategy, project milestones, and ROI analyses.
- Authors strategic documentation and governance standards.
- Develops strong relationships with business end-user communities and external Workday partners.
- Clearly articulates Workday concepts, design decisions and impacts.
- Serves as advisor to business leaders regarding Workday capabilities and opportunities; champions user adoption and optimization initiatives.
- Leads design, build, and testing of Workday integrations; develops and documents data transformation rules and reconciliation procedures.
- Leads efforts to standardize and streamline reporting practices.
- Collaborates with enterprise architecture teams to ensure Workday interoperability and scalability.
- Coordinates integration testing and validation during Workday upgrade cycles to ensure seamless functionality across systems.
- Partners with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of new Workday features on existing integrations and reporting frameworks.
- Provides strategic mentorship to Workday analysts and administrators.
- Develops technical standards and best practices for Workday configurations and integrations.
- Serves as IT Workday lead for executive stakeholders during redesigns and major initiatives.
- Plans and executes system upgrades, including feature adoption, regression testing, and impact analysis.
- Coordinates upgrade cycles with Workday release schedules, ensuring compliance with organizational change management processes.
- Leads validation of new functionality, security updates, and reporting enhancements introduced in Workday releases.
- Leads scoping, planning, and execution of enterprise Workday programs.
- Authors executive-level project proposals, charters, and risk assessments.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a Boston resident with 6+ years of progressive experience in Workday systems design, implementation, and support, and ideally possesses a Workday Pro Certification, PMP, ITIL, or Workday certified HCM and Finance credentials., * Bachelor's Degree or 6 years equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in Workday systems design, implementation, and support.
- Experience leading Workday implementations and governance.
- Experience in healthcare or higher education., * Workday Pro Certification, PMP, ITIL.
- Workday certified HCM and Finance preferred.
