Job description
- Conduct trials, lab testing, and proof-of-concept (POC) work using Cisco Firepower solutions
- Support Comcast lab engineering teams with configuration, troubleshooting, and system validations
- Work onsite to assist with lab operations and project-driven technical tasks
- Document test results, configurations, and engineering procedures
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and analysis of Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC)
- Collaborate closely with Comcast engineering leadership as direction is provided by the client
- Travel occasionally if required (for non-local candidates)
Requirements
- Senior-level experience as a network/security engineer
- Strong, hands-on expertise with Cisco Firepower (FTD, FMC, IPS/IDS, policy creation, rule tuning, system administration)
- Deep understanding of firewall technologies, network security, and enterprise networking protocols
- Experience in test engineering, lab environments, and POC execution
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to work onsite in Naperville, IL (preferred)
