Job description
We're partnering with a high-growth tech company building the backbone of highly reliable, large-scale financial systems. Their Foundation team is responsible for ensuring core infrastructure stays fast, stable, and developer-friendly, especially under heavy production load.
This is a hands-on engineering role where your "customers" are other engineers. Your impact is measured by how much faster, safer, and smoother the entire engineering organisation can ship.
What you'll work on:
- Designing and maintaining highly available, production-grade systems
- Improving developer experience (CI/CD, builds, deploys, tooling, reliability)
- Owning and evolving core infrastructure powering mission-critical workflows
- Strengthening observability, monitoring, and incident response systems
- Reducing system fragility and preventing production issues before they happen
- Working closely with other engineers in a fast feedback, high ownership environment
Company Tech stack:
AWS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Graphite, Honeycomb, Temporal.io, GitHub Codespaces, and AI-driven developer tooling
Requirements
- 1-4 years of SWE experience
- Experience contributing to or owning core infrastructure or backend systems
- Strong TypeScript skills + at least one backend language
- Exposure to microservices, scaling systems, or event-driven architectures
- Experience with AWS and PostgreSQL (or similar databases)
- Familiarity with caching, integrations, or distributed systems concepts
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, high-ownership environments
Remote-first, collaborative engineering culture with strong emphasis on reliability and developer productivity.
