Job description
The Data Analyst supports operational and analytical needs by extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from internal systems, third-party sources, and financial reports. This role works closely with the Data Intelligence team and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, maintain data reporting frameworks, and contribute to the development and enhancement of internal software applications. Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines to support portfolio analysis, borrowing base calculations, and operational reporting.
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical tools using Power BI, Excel, and other visualization platforms to support decision-making across business units.
- Utilize AI and app-gen tools to build reports in internal systems, including full stack codebases.
- Extract and analyze data from internal systems external to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development and testing of internal software applications by validating data integrity, identifying bugs, and providing functional feedback to the development team.
- Automate manual data workflows using Python, SQL, VBA, or AI-assisted tooling to improve efficiency and reduce processing time.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define data needs, and translate operational questions into structured analytical outputs.
- Leverage AI tools and large language models to enhance analytical workflows, accelerate data processing, and explore new approaches to recurring business problems.
- Document data sources, transformation logic, and reporting methodologies to ensure institutional knowledge is maintained and processes are repeatable.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a data, analytics, or technical role.
- Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures.
- Strong skills in Excel, including VBA, advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation, or scripting.
- Familiarity with leveraging agentic AI and large language models (LLMs) to enhance analytical work and processes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate data, identify anomalies, and ensure accuracy across reporting outputs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build reports and dashboards to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with data pipeline architecture and ETL processes.
- Experience with AWS services (S3, RDS, or similar) in a data context is a plus.
- Experience in finance, lending, or asset-based lending industries is a plus.
