Job description

They are currently seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join their team in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in the migration and optimization of infrastructure to a state-of-the-art, cloud-native environment within AWS.

As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will be a core member of the migration team, responsible for the transition from on-premises to a fully cloud-native infrastructure on AWS. This role places you at the forefront of a multi-hybrid cloud environment, where you will contribute to optimizing systems to operate efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively within AWS. Beyond technical implementation, you will foster a collaborative DevOps culture centered around automation and continuous improvement., * Lift-and-Shift Migration: Facilitate the initial migration of systems to AWS, ensuring minimal operational disruption and managing key technical workloads.

  • Cloud-Native Optimization: Transition legacy systems to cloud-native applications, including containers and serverless architectures. Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK to support efficient deployment.
  • Continuity and Incident Management: Maintain a stable and secure AWS environment, implementing robust monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch).
  • DevOps Collaboration: Foster a strong DevOps culture within the team by integrating DevOps practices, mentoring colleagues, and sharing knowledge to establish best practices for a cloud-native environment.
  • Innovation and Technology: Actively engage in exploring and implementing the latest in cloud technology to drive innovation and performance.
  • Cost Management and FinOps: Work with the FinOps team to ensure cost efficiency, transparency, and effective management of cloud expenses.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong proficiency with IaC tools, specifically Terraform (a must), with experience in automating and streamlining infrastructure.
  • Cost Optimization Knowledge: Familiarity with cost management and FinOps tools to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Practical knowledge of AWS monitoring and logging solutions, such as AWS CloudWatch, to maintain service continuity and troubleshoot issues.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Demonstrated experience in a DevOps environment, with a focus on automation and CI/CD pipelines.
