Job description
Serve as the primary point of contact for LAN/WLAN/WAN network issues, configuration management, and communications interconnection within CONUS operations. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues across all layers of the OSI model. Perform installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. Provide technical leadership and coordinate with engineers, government personnel, and stakeholders. Utilize tools such as SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, and Ansible for monitoring and diagnostics. Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and IDS systems to maintain network security and prevent unauthorized access. Develop and implement network standards, policies, and procedures aligned with DoD requirements. Analyze network performance and implement improvements to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency. Evaluate vendor solutions and recommend enhancements to support mission requirements. Communicate status updates and technical solutions to customers and leadership. Support modernization initiatives including Zero Trust Architecture. Participate in additional technical projects as needed.
Requirements
Expertise in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SNMP, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP. Strong experience with LAN/WAN architectures, routing, switching, and multi-protocol environments. Hands-on experience with Cisco systems, Windows environments, Active Directory, UNIX, and OpenVMS. Experience with network monitoring tools, cable testers, OTDR, and packet analysis tools. Knowledge of MIB, MRTG, and performance monitoring strategies. Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (preferred). Experience supporting DoD environments (healthcare systems experience preferred). Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of relevant experience OR Technical/Vocational training AND 10+ years of progressively complex networking experience
Required Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are required.
Clearance: Active Secret clearance is required. Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check. Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC'S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
