Job description
- Perform physical, chemical, and organoleptic evaluation using a variety of laboratory equipment.
- Responsible for the identification and isolation of non-conforming materials and issuing hold orders as appropriate.
- Monitor and enforce company and government regulations pertaining to Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation requirements.
- Perform and document periodic GMP inspections.
- Perform and document sensory evaluation.
- Support established pest control program.
- Inspects rooms to ensure they are clean/sanitized and ready for production.
- Assist in compiling quality and statistical data.
- Responsible for laboratory equipment calibrations.
- Gather and assess quality and statistical data through multiple software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Inspects product to ensure it is made according to specifications.
- Performs sanitation duties to always keep lab clean.
- Performs all duties in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP requirements. Adheres to uniform requirements.
- Audits HACCP paperwork.
- Adheres to all safety rules.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Appropriate English language ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, bills of lading and other related shipping documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The "base salary range" provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The range provided is for Illinois employees as Irca group is required by Illinois State Law to post pay rates.
