Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)/Engineer to join our innovative tech team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing our complex IT infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our enterprise software systems. This is an exciting opportunity for proactive problem-solvers passionate about cloud computing, DevOps practices, and cutting-edge technology., * Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure utilizing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and OpenStack, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

  • Automate deployment processes and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and scripting languages including Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, Perl, and Ruby.
  • Monitor system health and application performance with tools like New Relic, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and Nagios; analyze logs to troubleshoot issues swiftly.
  • Manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker to support microservices architectures; optimize resource utilization for efficiency.
  • Oversee network security measures including firewalls, DNS management, identity & access management (IAM), and cloud security protocols to safeguard enterprise assets.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, TFS (Team Foundation Server), GitHub, GitLab repositories; facilitate smooth software releases.
  • Conduct system testing and validation of updates or new deployments; ensure compliance with IT standards and best practices across UNIX/Linux/Windows environments.
  • Respond promptly to incident management scenarios; execute incident recovery plans while minimizing downtime and data loss through effective incident response strategies.

Requirements

This role is for an SRE Software Engineer - Will be working with multiple teams, need to have experience with multiple teams at one time. 60% SRE and 40% engineering - Must be good with both SRE and Development. Must be strong in public cloud, Terraform (IAC), Automation with CICD (Jenkins). Java/Python/Unix scripting are a huge plus. Will be planning a solution, then implementing that solution across multiple applications and teaching people along the way. 6+ years experience minimum., * Proven experience as an SRE or DevOps Engineer supporting enterprise-scale IT infrastructure in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware and Virtualization concepts; experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong background in scripting languages (Python, Bash/Unix Shell Scripting) along with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
  • Hands-on expertise with web application servers such as Weblogic, WebSphere, Tomcat; familiarity with enterprise software deployment processes.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle; experience with SQL/PLSQL/T-SQL for database management.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services architecture (SOAP/REST), TCP/IP networking protocols including DNS and TCP; knowledge of network administration principles.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments on IT projects involving requirements gathering, release management, system testing & troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform incident response & disaster recovery planning; proficient in log analysis using tools like Splunk or Elasticsearch for troubleshooting complex issues. Benefits & conditions

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
