Job description
This role partners with operations and leadership to translate manufacturing and financial data into actionable insight. The position owns standard costing, budgeting, margin and variance analysis, and ongoing performance reporting to help identify trends, explain results, and recommend cost-effective improvements that support profitability and informed business decisions. Essential Functions and Duties * Analyze and present manufacturing financial performance, translating complex data into clear insights for operations and leadership. * Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting activities; analyze results versus budget/forecast and communicate key drivers. * Maintain standard costs and support the annual standard cost roll as part of the budgeting process; ensure cost inputs are accurate and well-documented. * Analyze gross margin and profitability trends; investigate anomalies (volume, mix, absorption, inventory, pricing, and cost changes) and communicate findings. * Perform material, labor, and overhead variance analysis; identify root causes and partner with operations to implement corrective actions. * Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting for material costs, labor, overhead, and operating expenses. * Build cost models and analyses to quantify variable and fixed cost drivers (materials, labor, utilities, and overhead) and support business cases. * Provide financial analysis of manufacturing processes and initiatives to improve performance, efficiency, and cost competitiveness. * Define reporting requirements and ensure data integrity by selecting appropriate data sources, validating inputs, and improving reporting processes. * Provide day-to-day decision support to operations and general managers on profitability, cost impacts, and operational trade-offs. * Perform additional accounting and analytical duties as assigned by the Accounting Sr. Manager.
Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications B.S. in Accounting or Finance 5+ years' cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment using a standard cost system Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards Experience in maintaining and updating standard costs Strong understanding of product costing and variance analysis Strong analytical skills; able to interpret financial data and trends Proficient in managing, reconciling, and validating data for reporting Technical Skills Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, Power Query/Power Pivot, complex formulas) ERP experience and ability to extract and validate data from financial/manufacturing systems Experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI and/or Tableau Experience with planning/CPM tools (e.g., budgeting and forecasting systems) Soft Skills Self-motivated and able to work independently Detail-oriented with strong accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong time management and prioritization skills Collaborative team player You must create an Indeed account before continuing to the company website to apply
