Job description
Platform Technology Management team at General Motors is adding a Staff Technology Manager position that will focus on delivering the next-generation Vehicle to Cloud and Digital Key technology roadmap. As a Staff Technology Manager, you will lead the vision, roadmap, and technology/ platform development of GM's vehicle-to-cloud and digital key connectivity GM's current and next-generation vehicles.
This role is responsible for defining the technical requirements, KPIs, and operational performance of the end-to-end data and access pipeline connecting vehicles, mobile devices, and cloud services at scale . The successful candidate will work across product, vehicle engineering, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, suppliers, and telecom partners to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective data connectivity for millions of GM vehicles globally. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with strong accountability for system performance, scalability, and reliability.
What You'll Do

Lead and develop vision and roadmap of Vehicle -t o - cloud and Digital Key connectivity .

Create clear, compelling documentation outlining the value, use cases, and integration paths for new technologies .

Engage with suppliers and ecosystem partners to monitor trends in connected vehicle solutions, and emerging technologies.

Incorporate customer feedback, tech trends, and product needs to guide ongoing technology development and inform future platform roadmaps.

Lead competitive benchmarking, teardown analysis, and technical evaluations to drive cost, space, and performance improvements.

Define and track KPIs to measure the impact and success of deployed connected solutions., This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.
Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering , Computer Science, or related field.

8+ years of experience in connected systems, IoT, cloud platforms, or automotive connectivity.

Strong understanding of vehicle systems and constraints (TCU, gateways, power modes , in -vehicle networks).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP ), and strong understanding of UWB/Bluetooth / NFC and other connectivity technologies.

Strong communication , storytelling and writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively across stakeholders.
