Job description
Supports business unit financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting within a regulated utility environment. This role relies heavily on advanced use of SAP ECC and Microsoft Excel to produce accurate forecasts, analyze variances, and support management and regulatory reporting., * Develop, maintain, and consolidate detailed operating and capital budgets and forecasts using SAP ECC and Excel to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial cycles.
- Prepare and analyze financial performance reports, including actuals vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify drivers, trends, and risks impacting business results.
- Serve as a power user of SAP ECC, extracting, validating, reconciling, and maintaining financial data across multiple cost objects, business units, and reporting hierarchies.
- Apply advanced Excel capabilities (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups, large data sets) to support financial modeling, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory accounting requirements, supporting audit requests and acting as a liaison between business units, accounting, and external auditors.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to business partners by translating complex financial data into clear, actionable conclusions.
- Support financial systems and reporting processes, including data validation, system maintenance activities, and continuous improvement of forecasting and reporting workflows.
- Manage work independently while collaborating with finance, accounting, and business teams to meet deadlines and deliver accurate, high-quality financial outputs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Progressive experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP ECC for financial reporting, budgeting, and data reconciliation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP; regulatory accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in a large, complex, or regulated environment (utility experience preferred).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills., * Bachelor's (Required)
