Dexian Government Solutions is recruiting for a Software Tester/Quality Assurance Engineer to support our contract at the IRSCI in Florence, Kentucky.
The Software Tester / Quality Assurance Engineer?to support test execution, validation, and readiness activities across IRS-CI's technical toolsets under the CMSS subtask. This role is central to validating the performance, reliability, and functionality of emerging digital identity, endpoint, and biometrics solutions being delivered to IRS-CI special agents and field personnel.
You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and federal stakeholders to ensure rigorous testing, reporting, and resolution tracking aligned with CI mission needs and compliance standards. This role is supporting customers onsite, and located in Florence, Kentucky.
Key Responsibilities:

Execute functional, regression, and integration testing for IRS-CI-developed or integrated tools (e.g., digital identity, Hello sign-in, endpoint biometrics).

Review technical requirements, use cases, and user stories to design test plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria

Validate hardware and software readiness for field deployment including laptops, secure tokens, and mobile tools.

Identify, log, and track defects or performance issues and work with engineering teams for resolution

Support sprint-based validation of development outputs, pilot packages, and release builds.

Document repeatable test cases and support the creation of knowledge base articles or end-user validation checklists

Coordinate with PMs and SMEs to align testing with deployment timelines and risk profiles

Provide input to readiness assessments and Go/No-Go decision-making activities
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

7+ years?of software testing or QA experience in an enterprise or federal environment

Hands-on experience creating and executing structured test cases, reporting bugs, and managing test coverage

Strong understanding of test management practices and tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Jira)

Ability to work independently, document clearly, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Clearance:?Must be able to obtain/maintain IRS MBI (Moderate Risk Background Investigation) - Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience testing biometric systems, identity management tools, or authentication frameworks.

Experience supporting IRS, Treasury, or federal law enforcement technology initiatives.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and DevSecOps release cycles.

ISTQB certification or equivalent QA credential.
