Job description
The ServiceNow Software Development Engineer is a core technical resource responsible for the development, data integrity, and implementation of enterprise solutions. This role focuses on engineering robust data pipelines and automation for Security Operations (SecOps) and Integrated Risk Management (IRM). Supporting the Lead Engineer and Senior Developers, you will bridge the gap between raw security data and actionable platform intelligence by developing scalable code and managing complex data ingestion.
Responsibilities:

IRM & SecOps Implementation: Support the technical development and configuration of Risk Management, Policy & Compliance, and Vulnerability Response modules

Data Integration & Validation: Build and manage data ingestion using Import Sets, Transform Maps, and Data Sources. Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation and cleanup logic

Flow Automation: Design and build production-ready automation using Flow Designer, incorporating decision logic, loops, and error-handling frameworks.

Platform Scripting: Develop optimized server-side and client-side logic utilizing JavaScript, GlideRecord, and Business Rules for Script Includes and Client Scripts

API Development: Maintain REST APIs (Inbound/Outbound) and Scripted REST APIs to facilitate integration with external security tools.

Continuous Monitoring: Develop Scheduled Jobs and background processes to support automated evidence collection and Continuous Authorization and Monitoring (CAM)

Technical Problem Solving: Act as a self-starter in debugging platform issues and optimizing legacy workflows into modern platform features
Requirements
Required:

Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph is required
-
4+ years of software development experience with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, specifically building production flows, tables, and integrations

Education: Bachelor's Degree OR advanced degree in a related technical field.

Integration Knowledge: Practical experience mapping external tool data into the ServiceNow ecosystem

Excellent oral and written communication skills

At least a minimal understanding of a scripting language (Java is preferred)

Security+ (or equivalent IAT Level II) is required, or be obtained within 1 month of start***

Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScripting, JSON/XML parsing, and ServiceNow Data Sources

Automation: Experience with IntegrationHub or Event Management.

Process Awareness: Familiarity with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Quality & Testing: Experience with the Automated Test Framework (ATF) to validate development work

Knowledge of at least one operating system: Linux, Unix, Windows

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$86,600 - $181,800
