Job description
As a Software Engineer at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of software professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world's most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. What You Will Be Doing
As an Embedded Software Engineer Sr., your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Develop Embedded Software -Integrate features/algorithms into C/C++ applications -Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities -Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. -Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. -Correct program errors, prepares operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Requirements
*Must have an active DOD secret security clearance
*The candidate must have a growth mindset with a strong ability to learn quickly
*Strong experience with modern C++ 11 Embedded OS experiece: Yocto, Petalinux, VxWorks, or similar OS
*Experience with Embedded Protocols: RS-232, I2C, Canbus, RS-485, CanOpen, or similar protocols
*Experience working with Linux distributions (preferably RHEL 8 or higher)
*Can support routine domestic travel for government exercises Desired Skills: *Experience working with pub/sub protocols (RTI DDS, gRPC)
*Experience leading a software development team through different phases of the software development life cycle
*Experience with Python programming and bash scripting
*Experience working with Agile methodologies, JIRA, Git, and automated testing Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
