Job description

COTA's Digital Collaboration Engineer designs, develops, and supports collaboration and web platforms that enable effective communication and content delivery across the organization. This role maintains secure, scalable SharePoint solutions, Microsoft Teams Collaboration and Content Management and websites integrations through application programming interfaces (APIs), and ensures alignment with best practices and standards.

Perform other duties in alignment with the COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward., * Manage SharePoint administration by overseeing security, permissions, maintenance, and updates, site support and automation using Power Apps, Power Automate, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Contribute to SharePoint and Microsoft Teams governance, documentation guidelines, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Develop and configure SharePoint page layouts, site templates, lists, libraries, permission structures, and automated workflows.
  • Ensure seamless integrations between Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, and Entra ID, leveraging Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Support infrastructure of the web-based applications including cota.com built on WordPress.
  • Apply WordPress hardening and OWASP best practices to prevent web vulnerabilities, including XSS, CSRF, and SQL injection, through secure coding and configuration standards.
  • Support and ensure web-based applications initiatives maintain best practices such as, responsive web design, UX best practices, and digital optimization tools to achieve defined KPIs.
  • Align technical implementations with accessibility, search, and AI discoverability goals through proper configuration of meta tags, canonical tags, robot directives, and XML sitemaps.
  • Integrate with the WordPress REST API or GraphQL for dynamic and headless implementations.
  • Design and develop scalable, API-driven solutions by integrating systems using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, RESTful APIs, and Node.js backend frameworks.
  • Leverage Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines to support development activities while actively contributing within Agile, sprint-based workflows.
  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, Gatsby integrations, ACF blocks, custom post types and taxonomies, to support scalable content management.

Requirements

Do you have experience in XML?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in web development. An equivalent combination of training/education and relevant experience will also be considered.

  • MS SharePoint Certification or equivalent preferred.
