Job description

Database Maintenance: Provide daily support for the maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and data lakes, ensuring records are up-to-date and scripts are functioning as intended. Data Entry & Documentation: Primary responsibility for the creation and upkeep of comprehensive Data Dictionaries. This includes inputting logical data element names, definitions, data types, and unit measurements for every system update. Standardization Compliance: Review software data elements to ensure they align with DoD data standards. Cross-reference logical data models to ensure they are fully attributed and normalized. Metadata Coordination: Assist in the administrative task of tagging metadata. This includes documenting all meta tags in XML Schemas (XSD files) and managing the process of posting them to the Metadata Registry. Reporting & Delivery: Utilize SSIS and SSRS templates to generate and deliver routine information reports and data integration summaries to stakeholders. Technical Support: Assist senior staff in the routine monitoring, backup, and recovery of database systems. Database Administrative Specialist Halvik is seeking a detail-oriented Database Administrative Specialist to support the daily maintenance, documentation, and standardization of our data systems. This role focuses on the administrative lifecycle of database management-ensuring that data elements are correctly entered, labeled, and tracked according to DoD standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a structured environment where accuracy, consistency, and adherence to documentation protocols are the top priorities., Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret Clearance. Technical Skills: Familiarity with SQL, ETL processes, XML, and programming languages such as Python and Java. Tools: Experience using SSIS and SSRS for reporting purposes. Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and technical writing. Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience in data administration.
