Job description

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for a global aerospace company. In this role, you will design and develop safety-critical embedded software (including device drivers and bootloaders) for avionics mission systems, ensuring compliance with real-time operating system requirements and industry safety standards. This 4-day 10-hour shifts per week) role, this is a onsite role in Owego, NY. This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered. Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, operates, and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, airplane flight control and display systems, avionics, mechanical and electrical systems, weapons armament, commercial and military aircraft systems, mobile and ground-based defense systems, space systems, and other systems and applications of this nature.
  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • 16+ years of experience as an embedded Software Engineer.
  • Embedded software development, including the design, development, test, and debug of device drivers, boot loaders, and built-in-test libraries to support safety-critical avionics mission computers.
  • Development is in C, targeting the LynxOS/LynxElement Real-Time Operating System.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on software/FPGA/hardware interfaces.
  • Integrate custom-designed hardware and FPGA with software in a lab environment.
  • Support documentation, error correction, and performance validation.
  • Participate in certification activities to include requirements and code reviews to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Bachelor's degree
