The Division of Information Technology's mission and vision is to promote and protect the health of all New Yorkers through the use of innovative technology and health information that is useful and available. Bureau of IT Infrastructure and Support Services (IIS) is seeking an experienced Infrastructure and Facilities Coordinator to join our team. The Infrastructure and Facilities Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our Data Center and Network Facilities. This position involves reviewing and coordinating all aspects of infrastructure, environmental facilities, and cabling systems to support our IT operations. You will collaborate with various teams, vendors, and agencies to maintain and enhance our facilities. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: Coordinate with HVAC contractors and vendors for emergency service and routine maintenance of cooling systems across multiple DOH locations. Maintain and manage the inventory for Data Center, IDF, MDF, and IT-related power systems. Review all purchases of Network devices and Servers intended for placement within Data Center/Network facilities to ensure the availability of adequate environmental and communication facilities. Investigate and resolve connectivity issues, working with outside vendors, DOHMH staff, and independently utilizing appropriate tools and equipment. Collaborate with DOHMH Bureau of Administration, DCAS, other NYC agencies, and external vendors to acquire necessary environmental facilities for Data Center/Network Facilities. Review Vendor Test Results to verify that all cabling installations meet cable manufacturer's specifications and provide correct verification test results. Create and maintain all documentation associated with infrastructure work, including clear labeling at both IDF/MDF and workstation ends. Requirements
Proven experience in infrastructure and facilities coordination, ideally in a data center or network environment. Strong knowledge of ANSI/TIA cabling standards and UPS equipment management. Proficiency in troubleshooting network connectivity issues. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with facilities procurement and vendor management is a plus., (1) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus a certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe computer operations or three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframe environment, one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or (2) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above, including one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or (3) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, fulltime experience as described in "1" above, including one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or (4) A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1," "2," or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe computer operations or three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframe environment, one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
