Job description

We are seeking a Senior Integration Developer to design, build, and maintain robust data integrations across enterprise systems in a higher education environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Python, APIs, and Azure-based deployments, ensuring that data moves accurately, reliably, and efficiently between institutional applications such as Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and data warehouses. This role involves developing automation solutions, optimizing infrastructure, and enabling seamless data exchange to support institutional operations, analytics, and student success initiatives.

  • Design and implement Python-based data integration solutions to move and synchronize data across enterprise applications with high accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Deploy and manage integrations in Azure, optimizing for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) tools to accelerate development and reduce maintenance overhead.
  • Automate institutional processes by leveraging application APIs, web services, and data warehouse capabilities.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and application administrators to design, test, and support end-to-end data workflows.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance integration performance and reliability.
  • Document integration architectures, workflows, and deployment procedures for ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in data integration, cloud computing, and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration, data engineering, or application automation.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and other web service technologies.
  • Proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Azure SQL).
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Data Factory, and Storage Accounts.
  • Experience with higher education systems, including Student Information Systems (SIS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Banner, Workday Student, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Canvas, or Blackboard.
  • Version control experience using Git/GitHub or similar platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities., * Knowledge of machine learning workflows and advanced data analytics.
  • Experience integrating with ERP, CRM, and identity management systems (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, or Azure AD).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queuing technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements in higher education environments (e.g., FERPA).
