Junior Web Developer (Entry-Level)

We're looking for a junior web developer with strong customer service instincts and a foundational understanding of web technologies. This is an entry-level, client-facing role focused on maintaining and improving websites, supporting digital marketing efforts, and assisting with light development and design work.

You'll work closely with senior team members, especially in your first 3-6 months, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills grow.

This is an Indianapolis based position but will require occasional trips to meet with clients in the Lafayette office.

Core Responsibilities

• Meet with new and existing clients (initially alongside senior staff)
• Perform website updates and content changes in CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, OctoberCMS, others)
• Make minor design adjustments and assist with homepage/layout updates
• Troubleshoot basic website, plugin, and hosting/server issues
• Assist with SEO reviews, reporting, and optimization recommendations
• Support and manage digital marketing campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook, etc.)
• Research trends and recommend improvements for client campaigns
• Write and edit website content, blog posts, and basic marketing copy
• Document work clearly for internal tracking and client communication, * Confidently handling routine website updates and client requests
• Participating in client meetings and gradually owning smaller accounts
• Troubleshooting common CMS and plugin issues independently
• Contributing to SEO and marketing efforts with guidance
• Producing clear, professional communication and documentation

Do you have experience in Technical writing?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Strong customer service and communication skills

• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience (bootcamps, self-taught, or ~2 years practical experience)
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Basic familiarity with JavaScript
• Exposure to at least one backend or scripting language (PHP, Python, or .NET/C# preferred)
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt across a variety of tools and client environments
• Strong organizational and documentation habits

Preferred Skills

• Experience with a web framework (React, Vue, Angular, Django, etc.)
• Experience with website builders/CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, etc.)
• Portfolio of web or design work (personal, academic, or professional)
• Basic graphic design or UI/UX skills
• Familiarity with SEO concepts and tools
• Exposure to digital marketing or paid ad platforms
• Technical writing or copywriting experience
