Job description

Grade NC22, Description of Work The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to serve on our Data Analytics Division and support audit efforts by leading complex data analysis. As part of our team, you will get to: Identify risk indicators and develop tools to enhance audit effectiveness Design and develop interactive dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools that clearly communicate findings and drive decision-making Identify trends, anomalies, and performance issues in state agency and internal operational data Provide quality assurance and peer review for analysis and visual products developed by junior analysts Collaborate with audit teams to define data needs and deliver insights that enhance audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences, The Office of the State Auditor uses the Merit-Based Recruitment & Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act (SHRA) with highly qualified individuals. Requirements

Advanced skills in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used for analysis (e.g., Python, R) Demonstrated ability to communicate data-driven findings through compelling visual narratives is the state's Fiscal Watchdog.
