Job description

Adjunct is responsible for instruction, course preparation, developing instructional materials, grading and assessment, and professional responsibilities as a member of the instructional team of a school or academic department.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching program course(s)

  • Preparing lectures, assignments, assessments, and course material as needed for the course(s)

  • Grading assignments, projects, papers, presentations, and/or exams and providing students with valuable and timely feedback

  • Developing or updating the syllabus to reflect what is taught in the course(s) and how it is presented and assessed

  • Collaborating with the Director to implement necessary assessment tools into relevant course materials

Requirements

Education, Preparation, and Training

  • Doctoral degree

  • At least one year of teaching experience

  • At least three years of professional experience

Skills

  • Knowledge of the subject matter and online teaching/classroom management skills

  • Data Analytics

  • Mathematics and statistics

  • Healthcare sector data analysis

  • Databases and data modeling

  • Visualization

  • Data mining and data warehousing

  • Healthcare security and privacy policy (e.g., HIPAA)

Physical Demands

  • Use of a computer

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

  • In addition to the subject matter, the ability to effectively use an LMS such as Blackboard or Canvas
